An exclusive VIP trip to the International Conference Centre, Wales, the UK’s newest and most exciting events venue and Celtic Manor Resort

We arrived at Paddington Station to collect our tickets from the 1st class lounge which was kindly sponsored by GWR.  After a smooth train journey, we were greeted by our hosts at Newport station and taken to our hotel, celtic manor.  Our luggage was checking in and taken to our rooms while we made our way to one of the private rooms in the hotel where a glass of bucks fizz and some lovely nibbles were waiting for us.  After catching up with our hosts and chatting about the plans for the weekend, we started our Tour of Celtic Manor.

THE HOTEL

The five-star Celtic Manor Resort is set in more than 2,000 acres of panoramic parkland at the gateway to Wales. With four hotels – a 330-room luxury Resort Hotel, an historic 19th century Manor House with 70 rooms, the 148-room Coldra Court and the Newbridge on Usk country inn with six bedrooms – a large convention centre, two exceptional spas, two state-of-the-art health clubs, fishing, adventure golf, treetop high ropes course and tennis courts, the Celtic Manor Collection provides a complete experience for business, leisure and golf travellers.

CONFERENCING

Celtic Manor’s large venues include a ballroom, exhibition hall and several large suits which can accommodate 1200 people.

The medium sized venues benefit from private bars as well the option of large rooms being subdivided.

The Hotel also offers a wide range of meeting rooms with natural light and beautifully furnished.

The ICC

After a lovely site visit we headed to ICC Wales which is opposite Celtic Manor. This stunning conference venue is surrounded by fresh air and woodland, yet only a stone’s throw from the M4 (J24), major train stations and two international airports.

From bright and airy meeting rooms surrounded by glass and greenery, to stunning outdoor spaces, this internationally outstanding venue leads the way with a 4,000 sq. metre pillar-free exhibition hall, a 1,500-seat auditorium, versatile meeting rooms and an abundance of breakout and networking spaces flooded in natural daylight.

Just take a look below at some of their fantastic spaces

Lunch and relax

Next stop was lunch but this wasn’t just any lunch. Our own personal chef was on hand to talk us through the dished dishes he had created for us and to cook up some more in front of us.

Following lunch we headed to our rooms to relax before dinner. Not only were the rooms stunning, but our guests had left us a hand written welcome note and a number of gorgeous welcome gifts which was such a lovely touch.

BACK AT CELTIC MANOR FOR PRIVATE DINING

After a few hours of relaxation, we made our way to the bar for a drink before heading to our private dining room within the Celtic Manor resort. The dinner was very special and all personalised and created for Miss London Concierge and our clients. We even got to make our own cocktail during courses which was a great activity to do during dinner and certainly brough a few laughs.
After dinner we enjoyed a few glasses of bubbles and some live music back at the main hotel before heading back to get some beauty sleep.

DAY 2 – COLDRA COURT HOTEL

Day 2 of our FAM trip saw us heading to nearby Coldra Court Hotel for a tour which is part of the Celtic Collection – Only five minutes from the Celtic Manor Resort, you are sure to fall for Coldra Court’s comfortable bedrooms, Southern-inspired smokehouse restaurant, health club, pool and gym. We relaxed and enjoyed everything Coldra Court has to offer, with Celtic Manor’s fabulous golf, spas and adventure activities just a short distance away.

DAY 2 – ParkGate HOTEL

We then hopped on the bus and headed into Cardiff where we had a tour of the Parkgate Hotel, also part of the Celtic Collection. It is Cardiff’s finest new luxury hotel within touching distance of Principality Stadium. Echoing all the elegance and glamour of its historic setting, this is a chic new spot to meet, eat and relax. Adding to the wonderful offerings that Wales boasts around the International Conference Centre.

We had a lovely wonder around Cardiff and finally a very special afternoon tea for our guests.

Time to head home and not to be deterred by a train strike, our hosts organised a luxury coach to take us from Cardiff to London Paddington.

We had the most wonderful time and it was amazing to see how all of the fabulous properties and how these can be used for such a variety of corporate events. A big thank you to our wonderful hosts! We think our clients will love what these hotels and venues have to offer for company away days.
