Nestled in the heart of Kent, just 45minutes from London Stratford international, this award-winning wildlife park offers not only stunning accommodation but also unforgettable encounters with some of the world’s most majestic creatures.
The trip begins
Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the wonderful Keyleigh, who immediately made us feel at home. Our first stop was tea on terrace of the Mansion Hotel that overlooks the gorgeous 600 acres park.
Our day really began when we started our eco-friendly golf buggy tour, providing a fun and easy way to explore the vast park and its diverse range of accommodation offerings as well as corporate retreat possibilities.
As we cruised along the scenic pathways, we were able to take in the picturesque surroundings, complete with wildlife roaming freely in the distance. An ideal setting for corporate retreats in the UK.
The grand tour
First on our tour, we arrived at Hog Deer Creek, a peaceful retreat nestled within the park’s wilderness. These quaint, safari-style tents provide a more rustic yet comfortable experience and ideal for small corporate retreats.. Overlooking the meadows where the park’s hog deer roam, guests are treated to serene views right from their doorstep.
Our next stop was Leopard Creek, one of Port Lympne’s newer and more exclusive accommodations. These luxury lodges provide panoramic views of the park’s wildlife, including the park’s majestic leopards, all from the comfort of a stylish and spacious lodge.
For those seeking something a little different, we visited the charming Pinewood Shepherd Huts. Set in a quiet corner of the park, the shepherd huts are surrounded by trees and greenery, giving guests a sense of being immersed in nature.
We also had a sneak peek at Bear Lodge, designed for group events and corporate retreats. These tented lodges offer an immersive experience for those who want to sleep under the stars with all the comforts of a hotel. It’s a venue where adventure and nature blend seamlessly.
The safari
Of course, no trip to Port Lympne would be complete without experiencing a safari tour! We climbed aboard one of the park’s iconic safari trucks and embarked on a journey through the open plains, were treated to sightings of some incredible wildlife. Giraffes gracefully meandered through the fields. A highlight was coming face-to-face with a group of majestic lions, including playful lion cubs who stole our hearts. We also spotted rhinoceroses grazing peacefully and even had a glimpse of the mighty gorillas lounging in their specially designed habitats.
The safari offered not only an exciting wildlife experience but also a chance to learn about the park’s commitment to conservation. The knowledgeable guides shared fascinating insights about the endangered species they care for, adding an educational aspect to our adventure.
